Why Fish Oil Helps Reduce Hair Loss
Hair loss, hair thinning, and baldness are different degrees of the same problem. It is a problem that has vexed men and women for centuries. Nowadays, there are ointments, pills, hair implants, wigs, and countless other supplements, medications and treatments for hair loss. Fish oil with its Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin A helps get hair and scalp healthy from the inside out.
A nutritionist at NYU Medical Center, Samantha Heller, MS. RD, says that many patients that she sees have a sub-clinical lack of omega 3 fatty acids and recommends supplementing the diet with fish oil. Fish oil supplements, she cautions, should be taken as directed on the bottle. Exceeding recommended dosages without the supervision of a physician or naturopath could be dangerous.
Hair Loss And Estrogen - The Connection
Hair loss can be fixed. There are only just a few simple changes that need to be made to adjust the hormones that cause hair loss.
DHT is the hormone that causes hair loss. This hormone is known to cause many health conditions and diseases and is sometimes called the “death hormone”. It is wildly assumed that testosterone is the cause of DHT. This is a common misconception and is not the case. Estrogen, the female hormone, is what causes the production of DHT. Therefore hair loss can only be stopped by the reduction of estrogen.
