No One To Mourn
Deep in the ocean of poverty’s pain,
She cries from the depth of her heart.
Out on her own since her parents were slain,
Her whole world has fallen apart.
Lost with a far away look in her eyes,
The orphan’s resolve fades away,
Learning to hide and to silence her cries.
Will mankind each other betray?
Sleeping in shelters of cardboard at night;
Her bed but a rag on the ground.
No pillow cradles her head—it’s not right!
No address where she can be found.
